Final Photoshop Image.

To create my final photoshop image I took a close up picture of my eyeball. I also took a picture of me taking a picture of myself in the mirror. I then opened both images in photoshop. Firstly I cropped the picture of my eyeball so its more focused on my eye rather than the area around my eye. I then cut out the picture of me and my camera using the magic wand tool. I then shrunk the image of me and the camera so it would fit into the pupil of my eye. I then used the eraser tool with an opacity of about 60 to erase the edges and to create a smooth fade rather than a bold outline. I then used the spherize filter to create a fish eye effect, this was to try to get the image in the pupil to appear curved, like the eyeball itself. I then set the layer inside the pupil to about 50% transparency.

Storyboard of my stop motion

To create a storyboard of my stop motion I simply added a selection of still shots from my animation into photoshop. I then resized them to fit 6 images across the width of the page. I used the grid tool to make things a bit easier. Here is my storyboard:

How I created my stop motion animation....

To create my stop motion animation I took a series of pictures of me in different positions of frontflips and 360s and such. I ended up with just over 60 photographs. I then opened every photograph in photoshop and roughly got rid of the background using the lasso tool and the delete button on my keyboard, this made cutting the pictures out alot easier and saved ink :). I then printed all of my pictures and cut them out, I also printed out my background photographs. Then I opened Adobe Premiere and connected the video camera to the computer. I then set up my backgrounds and positioned the camera. Then I introduced my cut out images to the background and clicked on 'grab frame' on Premiere. I clicked 'grab frame' every time I moved or changed an image. Once I had all my frames captured I then saved my animation as a video file. Then using the 'split clip' button I 'cut' the video in several parts so I could add different effects to improve the quality, I mainly used slow motion as some parts were too fast.

Once I had my video how I wanted it, I decided to make some music. I did this by finding the sounds I wanted and shortening them and mixing them in 'Windows Movie Maker'( because its a whole load simpler than Premiere). I decided I wanted slightly comical music as my animation isnt overly serious. I then simply imported the video into Movie Maker and overlayed the music on top of it, I then saved it under a suitable name.

Photomontage

I researched Martha Rosler and her photomontage series that she does. I particularly liked the 'Bringing Home the War' series and decided to have a go at one of these myself.
I took a few images around my house to use in my photomontage. Most of my motage has been created using the lasso tool and the add and subtract from selection options.

This is my final photomontage:

I quite like it and think that it is quite like Roslers photomontages. Overall im really happy with the outcome.

Joiner

This is my joiner, inspired by Hockney:

I researched a bit about David Hockney and his 'Joiners' I had a go at one myself.
I took a series of pictures to used to create my joiner. I cut parts out of the image out and pasted them in the new image. I used the distort tool and changed sizes and angles of the layers to create something a little bit different. Overall I quite like the outcome of my joiner.

Examples of stop motion animaton

This is a really good example of stop motion animation.

This is another example of stop motion animation but not as good as the first one.

An obvious example of stop motion animation is MORPH
